Andrew is a morning person. He is most productive in the hours before lunch. His favorite meal of the day is breakfast. He needs about five hours of sleep to be “good.” His favorite drink is coffee, although too much makes him skittish.
He grew up in San Rafael, California, on the edge of China Camp State Park. He spent the majority of his formative years running around the woods avoiding homework, other kids and television. He first learned Photoshop in order to scan, print and distribute fake $10 bills in middle school. This enterprise abruptly ended when his bills were discovered circulating through the cafeteria.
He began his advertising career as an art director at Wieden+Kennedy, Shanghai. He spent two-and-a-half years riding his bike around the city, eating great food and taking photos. Next he worked at Wieden+Kennedy, Portland, doing much the same. From Portland he moved to New York to work at Droga5 for a few years. From New York he moved to Seattle to work at Amazon, where he rides his bike around the city, eating great food and taking photos.
He likes reading biographies and watching documentaries. His favorite non-breakfast food is Indian. He loves spicy food, which is inconsistent with his Irish heritage. He is also convinced that in a past life he was Japanese. If pressed, he would say that he really “gets the culture.”
He’s travelled quite a bit for an American. He ran a half-marathon on the Great Wall of China. He nearly died in a bike race through the streets of Shanghai. He got terrible food poisoning from eating sushi in Delhi. He jumped out of a plane over Australia. He cycled across the Ardennes, in search of the world's best beer (which is Rochefort 10).
Andrew weighs 165 lbs. Always has. Always will.
